Principal's Corner

Principal's Corner December 2017

There is now snow on the ground which (hopefully) is a reminder to all students they need to be prepared for the colder weather headed our way.  Our beautiful playground is a large and open space which enables a great deal of movement and activity as well as cold winds.  Please remember - our students go out to recess every day, and Physical Education classes may also be held outdoors.  Students need to have warm jackets, mittens, boots, and hats to ensure they are warm and dry while outside.  Please put your child’s name in their jackets.  Our LOST and FOUND is located in the front lobby and continues to grow.

Our Thanksgiving Dinner was a huge success thanks to the Abbey Group, Olivia’s Croutons for donating the croutons used in the stuffing, our families (250 guests), students, dedicated PTO officers, faculty and staff!

Neshobe welcomes Dottie Neuberger, Everybody Wins! Coordinator, who is covering for

Judy Comfort while she is recovering from surgery.  The program is now up and running.

Neshobe’s PTO is working on developing a plan to replace the wooden play structure.  This structure was built with pressure treated wood, which was recommended at the time.  Over the years, many repairs have been made to ensure it continues to be safe for use by our students.  There is an ongoing monitoring and inspection plan in place for excessive wear, deterioration, and other potential hazards due to the age of the structure as advised by our insurance company.  We want to be proactive and plan for its replacement before it becomes unsafe for use.  This play structure is used by the school, during SOAR, in the evenings, on the weekends, and throughout the summer by families.  Please help to support this project.

It has been an exciting first trimester with many new learning opportunities for our students.  Thank you for all of your support in making a difference in the lives of our students!
