Neshobe is Buzzing with Excitement!

We’re thrilled to announce that our Beehive is full — and that means it’s time for our first all-school celebration! 🎉
We invite all students to join us on Tuesday, October 14th for a school-wide Pajama Day!
Students can wear their favorite school-appropriate pajamas as we celebrate our achievements together.

At Neshobe, we use every month but especially this month as an opportunity to reinforce our core values: Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Responsible — the foundation of a positive and supportive school community.

This year, we are also introducing a monthly character trait focus to help students grow socially and emotionally. Each month’s trait listed in the table below.

For the past few weeks all students have been working on projects for their Square 1 Art during art class. Below are a few examples of some finished work from Grades 3 and 4. Square 1 Art is a PTO fundraiser that we do every year in art class. In the coming weeks and months I will be sharing more information about Square 1 Art. In the meantime you can learn more here:

There's a lot happening with the PTO this year. In this message you will see our current fundraiser, ways to contribute to the PTO efforts, and dates for the Monster Dash 2K fun run and family bingo. Check out our rolling meeting minutes for more detail. Your support helps make Neshobe an even more wonderful place for all our students, families, faculty and staff.

Halladay's Harvest Barn fundraiser due on Wednesday 10/15

Flyers to sell/purchase items from Halladay's are available in the main office if your student(s) didn't bring them home.

WAYS TO HELP:

Community Rake Day: Saturday Oct. 18, 10am-12pm: Get our trail safe and ready for the Monster Dash (see upcoming events below)! Spend a beautiful morning helping make our school safer for all our students. Ms. Chicoine will lead the raking of the trails behind Neshobe

Basket Raffle: during Parent Teacher Conferences Nov. 6 & 12. We are actively seeking donations from local businesses and families for baskets to include in our raffle! Email PTO Vice-President Nicole with your ideas

Monster Dash: Saturday Oct. 25, 9:45am (pre-register online here, or arrive at 9:30am on race day to register).

Run 2K in your Halloween costume! Prizes for the race in age categories, and for best costumes!

Neshobe Family Bingo: Sunday, Nov. 16 2-4pm. Basket raffle drawing at 3pm!

Join us for an afternoon of Bingo in the Neshobe gym. There will be snacks for sale. Don't miss the drawing for the basket raffle at 3pm!

Dear Neshobe School Community,

Please consider taking time to complete the Neshobe Food Service Feedback Form with your student(s) by Friday, October 17. Your feedback will help us review and reflect on the quality of the meals being offered at Neshobe School.

In addition, we are seeking one student representative and one parent representative to serve on our Food Service Advisory Committee. This committee meets twice a year to review the feedback collected and make recommendations for improvement.

The scheduled meeting dates are:

● Monday, October 27 from 1:30–2:00 p.m.

● Monday, February 16 from 1:30–2:00 p.m.

Your participation and feedback are important in helping us ensure that our food service program continues to meet the needs of our students and families. Please reach out to Patrick Binder (pbinder@rnesu.org) if you would like to serve on the advisory committee or if you have any questions.

Neshobe School is looking for help taking care of the chickens on the weekends and non-school days. Chicken helpers would make sure the chickens have fresh water, enough food, check that the pen looks okay, and take home any eggs! Bringing treats is optional. If you are interested in signing up, you can view the calendar here. You are not able to sign up directly on the calendar.
