| | | Neshobe School Family & Caregiver Conferences Thursday, November 6 • 3:00–7:00 Wednesday, November 12 • 3:00–6:30 Dear Neshobe Families and Caregivers,
We are looking forward to connecting with you during our upcoming Family and Caregiver Conferences. These 15-minute meetings are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth, discuss progress, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Students in grades 3 and above should attend the conference.
Please use the Neshobe Family & Caregiver Conference Sign-Up Sheet to choose a time that works best for you.
Families of students in Team Discovery (grades 5–6) should note that conference times have already been sent via the email address you provided. If you need to make any changes to your scheduled time, please feel free to reach out directly to the Team Discovery teachers.
How to Sign Up Click the link to open the sign-up sheet. Find your teacher’s name or grade level for your child(ren). Click on the link for the teacher’s name. Choose the date and 15-minute meeting time that work best for you: Thursday, November 6 (3:00–7:00 PM) Wednesday, November 12 (3:00–6:30 PM)
In the “Student Name” column, type your student’s name. In the “Family/Caregiver Name” column, type your name. If you have any special requests (for example, a phone or virtual meeting), note that in the “Notes” column. Please sign up for one slot per child so that everyone has time to connect with teachers.
Helpful Tips If you have more than one child, please be sure to sign up for a separate time with each child’s teacher. If your preferred time is already taken, choose another open slot or reach out to your child’s teacher to make alternative arrangements. If you need assistance signing up, contact the Neshobe office at (802) 247-3721 and we will be happy to help.
We are excited to share this time with you and to celebrate your child’s progress together. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s learning. Sincerely, The Neshobe Admin Team | | | Dear Families,
As we near the end of the first trimester, I want to take a moment to share some context about what you’ll see on your child’s report card in English Language Arts (ELA) this fall. This year marks our first full year of implementing “Amplify CKLA,” our new literacy program, and with it comes a shift in the order (scope and sequence) of when particular reading and writing standards are taught and assessed.
Because of these changes, you may notice that some ELA or mathematics standards on the report card are marked N/A (Not Assessed) for this trimester. This simply means that those particular standards will be taught and assessed later in the year, rather than in the fall as they may have been in the past. As we align to the new program, you can expect these standards to appear with scores in upcoming trimesters.
We encourage families to continue looking at multiple sources of information to understand their child’s growth as a reader and writer — including report cards, fall family conference discussions, RNESU Common Assessments, classroom assessments, and what you see day-to-day in your child’s reading and writing at home. Each piece provides a valuable window into progress.
Our K-8 teachers are working incredibly hard to implement “Amplify CKLA” with fidelity while also transitioning to the updated “Bridges 3” program in grades K-5. Grades 6-8 are implementing a new math program, ”Envision Mathematics” by Savaas. Our new programs represent a significant investment in the quality and consistency of instruction across our schools. These changes take time, collaboration, and care, and our teachers have approached this work with dedication and professionalism.
As we continue to settle into the new ELA and math scope and sequences, we plan to revise the report card either next year or the year after to better reflect the sequence of instruction in all our programs and ensure alignment across all grade levels.
Thank you for your partnership and for supporting your child’s academic journey. Together, we are building a strong foundation for every learner in RNESU.

Please fill out the linked questionnaire if your family could use help with food or gifts. While we will work to help as many families as we can, we will likely receive more requests than we can answer. Completing this form is not a guarantee and we will reach out to you individually if we can help. | | | | Students in fifth grade have finished Square 1 Art and begun choice-based art. A recent focus has been on the art of weaving. Students learned a little bit about the history of weaving in the Inca and Mayan cultures. Students are also learning about these cultures in their ELA class. Every student tried their hand at weaving and some found that they really enjoyed it. Check out the pictures of students with their weavings in progress and some with their finished weaving. | | | | | Hello from your Neshobe PTO!
