| | | Welcome Back, Neshobe Community, We hope you all had a restful and meaningful break. As we return to school, we want to take a moment to recognize something important: our school is in a good place. Learning is happening. Relationships are strengthening. Calm, joyful, and caring moments are showing up in classrooms, hallways, and shared spaces. These moments do not happen by chance. They are built through the patience, kindness, and care that our staff, students, and families bring to Neshobe each day, and we are grateful for that partnership. As we settle back into routines, we also want to share a few important reminders. Dismissal and Traffic Safety Beginning at approximately 2:00 p.m., buses begin lining up and remain in place until they depart at or by 2:35 p.m. Vehicles attempting to park in the front lot or move around buses during this time create significant safety concerns for students, staff, and drivers. For families picking up students without an appointment, we ask that drivers use the standard car pickup queue that follows Neshobe Circle. This helps us maintain a predictable flow of traffic and keep everyone safe. If your child has an appointment that requires early dismissal, please plan to arrive by or before 2:00 p.m. to avoid conflicts with bus staging. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we continue to make student safety our top priority.
Weather-Appropriate Clothing As winter weather continues, please be sure students are dressed for outdoor conditions. Warm coats, hats, gloves, and appropriate footwear help ensure that students can comfortably and safely enjoy recess and outdoor activities. Upcoming Dates Please remember that we have an early release on Thursday, January 16, and there is no school on Monday, January 19, in observance of the holiday. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong and positive stretch ahead for our students and our school community.
Sincerely, The Neshobe Admin Team | | | This month, we are focusing on Perseverance as our character development trait. At school, students are constantly learning new things and trying new experiences. Sometimes learning feels exciting, and other times it can feel hard, especially at the beginning. Perseverance is what helps us keep going even when something feels challenging, frustrating, or unfamiliar. We practice perseverance throughout the school day in many ways: working through a tricky math problem, reading a new or more difficult book, paying attention during a part of the day that feels hard, or learning new skills like cross country skiing during PE. Each of these moments asks students to be learners, to try, make mistakes, adjust, and try again. When students persevere, they build confidence, resilience, and pride in their growth. They learn that hard things don’t mean “stop,” they mean “keep going.” By encouraging perseverance, we help students understand that effort matters and that growth happens when we don’t give up. We are proud of the perseverance our students show every day as they put themselves out there and take on new challenges. For those who are struggling, we will continue to work on practicing the skills needed to do hard things. | | | | For the past several weeks students in Mrs. LaFlam's class have been spending some extra time in the art room. They have been working in small groups to create paper mache volcanoes. Each group began by creating an armature with a plastic jug, cardboard, newspaper, and tape. Once the armature was complete they covered it with several layers of paper mache. Finally, they painted their volcanoes with acrylic paint. Next week they will work with Mrs. LaFlam and experiment with "erupting" their volcanoes using vinegar and baking soda. So much fun! | | | | | | | | | | Cross country skiing is underway for students in Grades 3–6! This year, we are especially fortunate to have new equipment, making the experience even more enjoyable for our students. To be outside and ski for the entire PE period, students are expected to come prepared with appropriate winter clothing, including snowpants boots gloves a hat or ear coverings
When the weather is milder, students can always remove layers to stay comfortable, however we ask that all students arrive to pe class prepared with the right clothing and equipment so they can fully participate and make the most of this learning experience. Thank you for helping us support safe, active, and engaging outdoor learning for our students. | | | | | Neshobe School is looking for help taking care of the chickens on the weekends and non-school days.
