Celebrating Our Incredible School Counselors 💙
Dear Families,
This month, we proudly celebrate our school counselors, Mrs. W and Mr. Greco and the vital role they play in supporting our students, families, and school community. At the elementary level, school counselors are essential partners in helping children grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.
The early years of school are a critical time for healthy development. Children are learning how to manage emotions, build relationships, solve problems, and understand themselves and others. School counseling provides the foundation for these lifelong skills. By supporting students early, counselors help set them up for long-term success, in school and beyond.
Our counselors work proactively with all students by teaching Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons in classrooms. These lessons help students develop skills such as empathy, self-regulation, responsible decision-making, and positive communication. When students understand their feelings and learn healthy ways to respond, they are better able to focus, learn, and thrive.
In addition to classroom instruction, our counselors support students individually and in small groups. They help children problem-solve challenges, navigate friendships, manage big emotions, and build confidence. For many students, having a trusted adult who listens and cares makes all the difference.
Beyond supporting students, our counselors are deeply connected to our families and community. They organize and lead community activities that strengthen family engagement, provide resources, and create meaningful connections between home and school. Their work ensures that families feel supported, informed, and valued.
We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, dedication, and expertise our school counselors bring to our school every day. Their impact reaches far beyond the counseling office, they help create a safe, supportive, and caring environment where every student can grow and succeed.
Please join us in thanking our amazing counselors for all they do for our community!
Happy National Counseling Week!
