It isn't just teaching ABC's and 123's, it's fun-based hands-on learning, building curiosity and developing teamwork & sharing skills. It takes patience, understanding and a whole lot of ENERGY!! This team does it all, we are lucky to have them!
When they aren't dancing, moving, and filling their classrooms with the joy of learning, you’ll find them enjoying their own little adventures outside of school. Here's a little Kindergarten Teacher Trivia.
Can you guess......
who got engaged this summer? who is a mother of three? who is a brand-new grandma? who is a proud dog mom to two rambunctious Golden Retrievers?
No matter what they are doing, inside or outside the classroom, they make learning and life an enjoyable journey. We are so lucky to have such a creative, caring, and fun team leading the way for our youngest Neshobe Bees! | | | | Egress Drill Planned For Next Week Dear Neshobe Families and Caregivers,
The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our top priority. As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, we want to let you know that we will be holding monthly practice safety drills throughout the school year.
To keep you informed, we will always notify families in advance before a drill takes place. Prior to each exercise, our staff will review the drill expectations with students using developmentally appropriate messaging. Our goal is to ensure students feel prepared, safe, and calm, never alarmed, while practicing these routine procedures.
Practicing these procedures regularly helps our entire school community stay confident and prepared. If you have any questions about our emergency readiness or safety protocols, please feel free to reach out to the main office at any time.
Next week, we will have a practice Egress (Evacuation Drill). We will let families and Caregivers know when the drill has been completed.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support! | | | | It's October already! Students in Grades 3-6 are wrapping up their Square 1 Art (more news on that in November) and beginning new projects. Grades 4-6 have been introduced to our new sculpture tool, the "Chompsaw", which we were able to buy thanks to a donation from the Brandon Artists Guild. Grades 4-6 will also be opening the clay center soon. Many students are looking forward to working with the clay! In Grade 3, students learned about an artist named Maria Martinez. She was a well known artist that made beautiful clay pots using techniques that had been passed down through many generations in her family and community. Our Third Graders will begin making their own coil pots next week. Students in Grade K-2 have been working hard on a variety of drawing projects for their Square 1 Art. Oh! We also had an amphibian visit the art room this week. A little frog spent the morning hanging out with some sidewalk chalk. Check out the picture below! | | | Lauren Green Lauren is in 5th Grade. In school some of her favorite things to do are drawing and reading. Outside of school she also likes to draw and read! She has read more than 200 pages in a single day! Lauren says: "This is a drawing of two dragons from "Wings of Fire". The green one is Glory and the smaller yellow and pink one is Kinkajou. I've been drawing dragons for about one year." Lauren always comes to art class with a smile on her face and a never ending supply of creative ideas! | | | | | We are beyond thrilled to officially announce that Neshobe now has its very own Unified Special Olympics team! 🏆🎉 Right now, our growing squad is powered by 3 incredible athletes, 4 dedicated partners, 2 passionate coaches, and 2 amazing adult volunteers—and we are just getting started! Want to be part of the excitement? It’s not too late to join! We are actively looking for more athletes and unified partners to fill out our roster. Practices are kicking off very soon, so don't miss your chance to build friendships, train hard, and join in the fun!
Come be a part of something amazing—join the team today! 🏅⚡ | | What is Unified Sports? Unified Sports, a program of Special Olympics, brings students with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team. Training and playing together creates friendships and understanding. It's about inclusion, acceptance and social connection for all students. More than 60 schools in Vermont already participate, and programs range from elementary through high school. Key Highlights of Unified Sports: Inclusive Teams: Students with intellectual disabilities (“athletes”) and students without disabilities (“partners”) play side-by-side.
Teamwork & Friendship: The motto says it best—“On the field we’re teammates and off the field we’re friends.”
School-Based Activities: Schools across Vermont host Unified teams, supported by the Vermont Principals’ Association and Special Olympics Vermont.
Positive Impact: Unified Sports helps build community, reduce bullying, and promote healthy activity for all students.
What’s Happening at Neshobe? We plan to begin team-building practices once we have an idea of how many students, both athletes and partners, would like to join. Students age 8 and older are able to compete in the Special Olympic tournaments, but we would like to include students of all ages in our practices to be a part of the team. We plan on meeting once a week after school for about an hour to an hour and a half. Once we gauge student interest, we will share more details about practices and the program. Our goal is to begin competing in the spring—starting with Unified Bocce!
Interested in joining? If your student would like to participate as an Athlete or a Partner, please contact: Sara Gregory, Supervisor of Elementary Student Support Services 📧 sgregory@rnesu.org 📞 (802) 247-3721 ext. 2089 We can’t wait to get started and build something wonderful together!
