 Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe we are already at the end of September and students have been in school for a month!  Students have been smiling extra wide this week for their school pictures!

As many may already know, Neshobe will be getting a modular unit late fall to help with our shortage of space. The modular unit will provide space for a Spanish classroom, some space for interventionists and special educators, as well as spaces for students to do individual and small group work.

Construction has begun for the unit already (YAY!).  You may have noticed that some of the playground equipment was removed to make space for the modular. We have fencing around the construction site and, while this will not impact drop off or pick up (which is a relief!), it will impact how students move between buildings and go out to recess. We are working with classroom teachers and other staff to ensure that students are safe when going outside. This will be an inconvenience for a time, but the end result will be worth it.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

It was so incredible seeing so many of you at last week's Open House.  Based on what we have heard, about 80% of families came! That is incredible and it was terrific to see the halls filled with students, staff, parents, guardians and other family members.  Thank you to all for making it such a great success! Thank you as well to the PTO for providing free water bottles to Neshobe students!

All classrooms continue to work on classroom and school wide expectations and are teaching those skills explicitly.  These expectations extend to all school “locations” including the bus.  Please see below for abbreviated bus expectations from the district.

Below are abbreviated Bus Expectations:

  • All students are required to follow Bus Driver’s and Bus Monitor’s directions immediately; students will remain seated, facing forward, with their full body out of the aisle.
  • Students will use quiet, acceptable language only and respect other people, their space, possessions and all equipment.
  • A Parent/guardian or an identified responsible person designated by Parent/guardian must be at the bus stop for grades K-3 or other identified students at drop off times.

BIKE WEEK!!
